What a week! The vice-presidential debate kept us riveted along with all the Covid News coming out of the White House and the election ramping up. It’s tough sometimes with the hard news cycle because it can be a lot of divisivness that weighs on you so these stories that I read or watched during the week made me chuckle or smile. I hope they do the same for you! Have a great weekend and if you are off on Monday for Indigenous People’s Day, hope you have a good one. Here is a blog post I read from Smithsonian Voices that might give you some ideas of how to celebrate if you are home with family.

1. This Tik Tok Grocery Store Musical was the highlight of my week! I first saw it on Twitter and immediately texted so many of my actor friends marveling at the creativity. The talent is also endless. It really made me smile because it was so silly and fun! The original twitter thread if you want to check it out is here.

2. This is such a sweet gift from 5 year old Carver who gifted wildfire first responders this Yoda doll. Carver sent a note along with the Yoda doll writing, “Thank You Firefighters. Here is a friend for you in case you get lonely.” I love gifts especially meaningful ones. Baby Yoda put a smile on the faces of some very tough firefighters. A little kindness goes a long way and we need to appreciate these heroes!

3. I love this Daddy Daughter duo so. much! I think it’s so awesome to see this Dad doing his daughter’s hair and trying to embrace that role which often times Moms are left to do or expected to do. I know I love watching my husband, admittedly, struggle sometimes (hahaha) doing our daughter’s hair. :) It’s really the sweetest thing though to witness and watch. One of my favorite moments in this video is when his daughter says “It’s not hitting right.” Too cute. What a beautiful family.

4. The UN World Food Programme won the Nobel Peace Prize! They are the largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security. They supported 1 million people in 88 countries this past year! This is absolutely incredible. The work that they are doing and the places they are going it’s beyond kind. They are going to war zones and places of complete devastation in order to help those who need it. Please watch all the way through because David Beasley, executive director has a very important message at the end for all of us. They’ve certainly earned this prestigious award. To donate if you can, go here.

5. Doug the Pug is one of my favorite accounts to follow! This is the story of how he got started! You have to watch how this sweetheart became one of the world’s most famous dogs. He just seems so happy in all of his outfits and meeting so many people. He’s so famous that celebrities like Shakira flew him and his family to meet her in Barcelona! He brings such joy and happiness and I love seeing photos and videos of him. His family is now starting the Doug The Pug Foundation to help children with cancer. They mention on their website that, “Doug knows what it means to bring joy to children while they are in treatment for a life-threatening disease and wants to help children and their families during their fight for life. Doug the Pug Foundation was created to help sustain joys of childhood and alleviate financial burdens outside of treatment.” So glad that they are utilizing their fame for good. Seeing any videos or pictures of him definitely makes me feel good.
